| Hello everyone :-) If you are on this page either you are having
computer issues or just curious. Honestly, I hope you are just checking things
out. Having computer issues can be anything from just annoying to an absolute
nightmare!! I know this because I am an Operations Analyst (that's professional
jargon for a PC tech) for a hospital here in town. I also work on PC's at home
from time to time for other people. Not to mention maintaining my 4 desktops (2
running dual monitors), 3 wireless laptops, 1 home server, 1 B/W laserjet
printer, 1 color inkjet printer, 1 wired/wireless router daisy chained into 8
port switch for LAN parties. Also, I am Microsoft and CompTIA certified. Why do
you care about all that stuff I just spilled out on ya? Simple .. I want you to
know that I am a real person that knows these programs that I recommend on this
page do work! Many of them I use on a daily basis. Some only occasionally. Some
are freebies .. some are not ... but they all work! I will add more as I
discover and test them. But, even though I recommend
these programs, I do want to stress to you use them at your own descression. Me
or anyone or anything connected to this site are not in anyway or anyform
responsible for anyones data or hardware on their PC regaurdless of what

| *Note* - Most of these programs come
from Downloads.com. Sites do sometimes move and the links become broken. I will
keep check on this to ensure that the links stay intact. If you discover that
one is broken, Google the name of the program and you will find it. |

Cleaner - This has become my favorite temp file cleaner. I use it at home
and at work. Very simple to use!!! |
| MaleWare
Bytes - Very Very effective at removing those pesky "pop-up" MaleWare
viruses. |
| CCleaner - It cleans the *junk* that helps slow your PC
down. |
| Advanced
WindowsCare Personal - It cleans spyware, removes temps and many other
"issue fixers". Has a few neat tools built in also. |
| JKDefrag - Great
Hard Drive defragmenter program. Read the "Tips" on the page this link opens.
They can help with a slow PC. |
| Smart
Defrag - Another great hard drive defragmenter. This one will run in
the back ground while you are working to always help keep the files in
order. |
| AVG
Anti-Virus Free Edition - Free Anti-Virus program. This program has always
been very good to me. |
| PC Tools
Anti-Virus Free - Another very good Anti-Virus program. |
| Avast
Home Edition - Yet another great FREE Anti-Virus program. |
| Ad-Aware
2008 Free - I use this program on all of my PC's. Works great! |
| Spyware
Blaster - This program blocks the Spyware from entering your PC to begin
with. It doesn't remove it if it has already infected your PC. |
| Windows
Defender - Protects against Spyware, Pop-ups & Slow PC
Performance. |
| To
help keep your PC performing as best as it can, I recommend not useing "Tool
Bars". They cause alot of internet "chatter" for your PC. This eats away at the
resources that your PC has, eventually helping bring it down to a crawl. If you
need Google, Yahoo or what ever search engine you like. Save it in your
"Favorites" and use that as a quick link to the search engine. |

| Check hard drive space - If your
PC is running out of hard drive space it will slow down the overall
performance. Here is how to check the space remaining. |
| Windows Disk Clean
up - This is the program that Windows XP provides. It works but I prefer
using CCleaner
listed above. |
| Windows Disk Defragmentor -
This is the program that Windows XP provides to defragment the hard drive. |

Office - Not as fast as MS Office ... but its FREE!! Does all that the MS
Office package does. Slower on loading the applications ... but it's
FREE!! |
| 7-Zip
- A completly free and better alternative to WinZip. Opens more types of files.
Compresses better and different types of extensions. |
| Foxit
PDF Reader - A PDF reader that is faster and lighter than Adobe Reader. I
use the portable version and I like it much better than Adobe!! |
| DBAN - Need to wipe a
drive TOTALLY clean? Here is the program you need. NO DATA CAN BE RECOVERED
AFTER USING THIS PROGRAM. |

use this browser a lot. It has lots of cool add ons. Don't get carried away
adding the fun stuff. It will slow down your internet surfing. |

Mozilla Firefox. If you blog or have Facebook, Twitter or Youtube accounts. You
might want to check this browser out! |
| Google Chrome -
Cool brower from Google. I really like this browser also. Very cool
interface to work with. |
| Apple Safari -
Clean, very little clutter and a fast browser. Apple has created a version for
Windows users. |
| The World Browser
- Very clean and fast running browser. Different from the rest so it takes a
little time to figure it out. |
